The Pioneer Woman

I happened upon an awesome blog (thanks Jill) that I just have to share! It's The Pioneer Woman Cooks and her personal blog, Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. I have spent way too much time during the past couple days on these blogs, drooling over the recipes and secretly wishing I could runaway to her ranch and cook/bake in her amazing kitchen, eating everything I make without gaining a pound and watching the hunky cowboys in my spare time! Checkout the blog and picture me in the kitchen and Mike as my Marlboro Man (minus the Marlboros of course), with Haven and Asher out rustling cattle (Halle would be with me in the kitchen). I would totally bring all of you a pan of the cinnamon rolls!

So the second part of this post, is a question...Why in the heck do I waste time living vicariously through The Pioneer Woman, neglecting my own "duties" in the process? I swear, I'm looking at my house that needs a serious overhaul, and my children who need a bath and wondering what is wrong with me. It's like I can't make myself do what needs to be done. Mike is seriously considering hiring "help!" Does anyone else have this problem?

Anyway, checkout The Pioneer Woman and let me know what you think. If you knew about her and had not shared, I think you owe me an explanation (j/k). Enjoy!

P.S. I feel like I've been caught in the act...Mike just walked in the door (he doesn't usually come home for lunch on Thursdays), and I'm just finishing my post at 11 AM in my pj's. He promises he loves me anyway!

I do love the pioneer woman, she is definitely on my list of people I would like to meet someday! and don't beat yourself up crystal...you throw amazing birthday parties, make killer pancakes and have three adorable children-you seem pretty put together to me! oh- and i do know that pioneer woman has a full time nanny and another full time person to help with her food.

What a fun site. I wish that I had photography skills and a camera that could do the things she does.

Ok - I LOVE that site too and you sound just like me some days! Gotta love it! In fact I was looking at it one night and Jonathan started looking at it too and we were CRACKING UP! SO fun!
By the way, we tried the oatmeal cookie pancakes this morning! I forgot the butter that was melted in the microwave and they were still A-Mazing! I think I will just eliminate that ingredient since I really dont need it on my thighs anyway:) Thanks for sharing! You are awesome:)

So I haven't looked on that website, but I'd like to comment on your second issue at hand . . . neglecting mom duties . . . it usually means your pregnant! Sorry to break it to you! :)

AND she looks like she's a professional photographer! Some women have it all! Heck...if Nate were to ever talk about hiring help I'd jump all over that! Take advantage woman!

I have to report that I surprised myself yesterday after I finished the post, when I put my kids down for a nap I actually picked up the living and dining room and attacked the scary kitchen and then vacuumed to boot. My Marlboro Man almost fell over dead I'm sure. I missed his reaction because I was waiting in my car for him to get home so I could run off to a church meeting!

Wow, I'm green with envy over her camera. Fun site to check out. As for the hired help - I would love it. I feel that I never seem to get around to the last details like washing the outside of windows, cleaning the tracks, dusting all the pictures, mopping all the floors, and vacuuming all the corners. Not that I dream about having extra help all the time.:)
