Why I shouldn't update my blog when Asher's awake!

This is what I get for trying to sneak a few posts in while my sweet baby boy is awake! Asher had been downstairs with me, but decided that upstairs must be more interesting. I heard him overhead in what sounded like the bathroom so I ran upstairs to find him playing in a pile of powder makeup, which he had sprinkled all over the outside of the tub and then tossed the powder container into the tub (he loves to throw things in my tub)! No major harm done, and at least he chose to make the mess in and around the tub.

This little experience brought to mind a debate I have with myself, my husband and many friends...if you could choose the sex of your next baby, what would you choose and why? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE my Asher, but my answer remains a girl. I think two girls and a boy is and would be a great pattern to continue (maybe when their teenagers, I'll think otherwise)! I'd love to hear you thoughts on the debate.

I would definatly say it depends on thte kid! Emma is sooooo emotional and has destroyed so many things while Russell is a little cuddlebug and super easygoing. So far his biggest messes are throwing stuffed animals or forgetting to pick up his Trucks. Meanwhile Em has painted on and dimantled many objects in our home.... I agree though that lets see what happens when they are teenagers! I am excited about this new baby girl - regardless of how tough big sis has been!

i would love for luke to have a brother to play with. so i think a boy would be nice. but i atill want another baby girl so...i don't know, i might not even make it to four. and talking about teenage years scares me to death.

Crystal - Your babies are so beautiful! You've got to love the messes at the worst times:) I definitely think boys are more trouble when they're little, but the girls do get more emotional when they get older...

Boy! As high maintenance and crazy as my two boys are, the thought of a girl terrifies me. All that playing house, dress-up, tea parties...

Oh man! I just love the YaYa! Just think of how "Normal" life would be without that sweet monster boy!

I think I would definitely prefer boys...I grew up with all boys and I think I would be more interested in the things that they are. But they can be pretty annoying too. Something I've especially most recently noticed (as I listen to the LOUD computer while Nate MUST play his online McDonald's Monopoly game). Plus I think football games would be a lot more fun than dance recitals.

First off, you got off easy! only your powder makeup? I don't know how many times my two oldest girls got into my make up when they were little and it was my whole make up bag! Nothing like trying to scrub lipstick off everything including the cat.
Next, I would have to vote girl. I had 6 sisters growing up and so drama was a way of life. I have 4 girls and 2 boys and my girls are definately waaaaaaaayyyyyy easier! However, I just read a book that said that you are not a 4 star general mom until you have 2 boys ( not one because he has no one to fight with or wrestle) I got to agree with that. Gotta have both!
